Firmware Update Guide (Recommended: Version 6.00)

Best Firmware for Crazy Carts — Smoothest Performance & Most Stable Version

Step 1 — Open Firmware Update Menu

1. Go to the Start tab in the VESC Tool App.
   
2. On the left side, scroll down and tap Update Firmware.
   

Step 2 — Download the Firmware Archive

1. At the top of the screen, scroll the horizontal bar to Archive.
   
2. Tap Update Archive to download all firmware versions.
   
3. This download may take 5–10 minutes depending on your phone and internet speed.
   

Step 3 — Select Firmware Version 6.00

1. Once the archive finishes downloading, tap the Firmware Version Box.
   
2. Change the firmware version to v6.00.
   
3. Why 6.00?

• Best stability
• Best motor detection behavior
• Most reliable for Crazy Cart performance
• Avoids issues seen in later 6.x firmware changes

Step 4 — Upload the Firmware

1. Tap Upload (bottom-left of the screen).
   
2. The firmware upload process will take 5–10 minutes.
   
3. When finished, you will likely need to reconnect to your VESC.
   

Step 5 — Verify Firmware Version

1. Return to the Update Firmware tab.
   
2. Scroll back to Archive.
   
3. At the bottom of the screen, confirm that FW = v6.00.
   
4. If it displays v6.00, you are fully updated.
   

⚠ IMPORTANT — Firmware Resets Your Entire Controller

Updating firmware wipes your controller settings.

You must redo the following:

• Motor Setup
• Hall Sensor Detection
• Throttle Calibration
• Battery Settings
• Motor Current Settings
• Regen Braking Setup (if used)
