⚡Install the ChargedUp VESC App

Use the ChargedUp App to make tuning easier than ever.

VESC APP REQUIRED FOR THIS GUIDE

You can find the app for your mobile device below.

7070 Motors:

Motor type : Generic/Large Outrunner
Motor poles : 14
Temp sensor type : 10k NTC

XL motor:

Motor type : Generic/Large Inrunner Motor poles : 10
Common gearing: 20-22/55
Temp sensor type KTY 83

V3 motor:

Motor type : Generic/Large Inrunner
Motor poles : 6
Common gearing: 16/55
Temp sensor type: KTY 83

  1. Use your charger’s OUTPUT voltage to determine your cell series.
  • Look at the OUTPUT voltage displayed on your charger.
  • Match that number to the correct cell series in the chart below.
  1. Voltage → Cell Series Chart:
  • ~42.0V → 10s
  • ~46.2V → 11s
  • ~50.4V → 12s
  • ~54.6V → 13s
  • ~58.8V → 14s
  • ~63.0V → 15s
  • ~67.2V → 16s
  • ~71.4V → 17s
  • ~75.6V → 18s
  • ~79.8V → 19s
  • ~84.0V → 20s

This is the maximum current(A or Amps) your battery can output. To find this value check your battery specifications for a value called Continuous Discharge Rate. For budget lithium ion batteries, this value is around 20-30a. For Amorge and OnlyAmps batteries this can be 60-80a.

This is an important figure. If it is set wrong, you may experience battery cutout. (cuts all power to cart to protect battery)

This is the maximum current(A or Amps) that your battery can regen at or input back into the battery. Please check with your battery specifications on Max Charge Rate.

If you cannot find this value, check the charge rate of your wall charger. This value usually ranges around 2.5a-5a.

This means you can set your Battery Current Regen Max to the same as your charger.

MAKE SURE YOU SET IT TO NEGATIVE VALUES WITHIN VESC

Within VESC, you are able to set your Motor Pulley Tooth Count and your Wheel Pulley Tooth Count.

This will make sure your kart is reading the proper speed.

To find these metrics, count the teeth on your motor sprocket and your wheel sprocket and set accordingly within the app.

VESC Package Install & ChargedUp3D UI Guide

Step 1 — What This Package Does

The ChargedUp3D VESC Package installs a custom tab inside VESC Tool that makes adjusting:

  • Battery cell series
  • Battery amps
  • Motor amps
  • Power settings

MUCH easier and faster than using default VESC menus.

Great for beginners and advanced riders.

Step 2 — Connect to Your Kart

  1. Turn OFF all other VESCs nearby.

Prevents connecting to the wrong controller.
  2. Power ON your kart / VESC.
  3. Open the VESC Tool App.
  4. Tap CONNECT and select your VESC.

Step 3 — Download the Correct Package File

  1. Download the package file from the video description.
  2. This package is specific to the 75v100 v2 VESC Controller.

(Do NOT use on other controllers.)

Step 4 — Install the Package

  1. Inside VESC Tool, go to Package Store.
  2. Tap the three dots (top-right).
  3. Select Install From File.
  4. Choose the file you downloaded.
  5. Tap Open.

    Install time: ~10 seconds
  6. Tap Close when done.
  7. Wait a moment.

You should now see a new tab at the top labeled:

App UI (ChargedUp3D UI)

This confirms installation was successful.

Step 5 — Using the ChargedUp3D UI

Battery Series

  1. Find the Battery Series section.
  2. Match this to your charger output voltage.

10s — 42.0v

11s — 46.2v

12s — 50.4v

13s — 54.6v

14s — 58.8v

15s — 63.0v

16s — 67.2v

17s — 71.4v

18s — 75.6v

19s — 79.8v

20s — 84.0v

*So if your charger output voltage is 67.2v set your cell series to 16s and so on.*

Battery Amps

  1. Set battery amps slightly lower than your battery’s continuous discharge rating.
  2. This prevents BMS cutouts during hard acceleration.

Example:

60A BMS → set battery amps to 50-55A.

Motor Amps

  1. Recommended starting point: 90A.

    (150A is extremely twitchy.)

Automatic Motor Amp Limiting

The ChargedUp UI will automatically cap Motor Amps so they never exceed:

Motor Amps ≤ 3× Battery Amps

This protects your battery, BMS, controller, and motor.

Apply Settings

  1. Once all your values are set, tap:

    Apply Power Settings
  2. This instantly updates motor/battery current settings.

To verify:

Motor CFG → Current tab

Your new numbers will be shown there.

This makes power tuning faster, safer, and much easier.
